GNSF DEFCON LEVELS |
| DEFCON | Description |
 | This is the condition used to designate normal peacetime military readiness. Any upgrade in military preparedness is typically made by the GNSF COC and announced by the Chief of Naval Operations. |
 | This refers to normal, increased intelligence and the heightening of security measures. The Intelligence Department is placed into a medium state of alert, with intelligence gathering increased and focused in a particular area. |
 | This refers to an increase to force readiness above normal. Radio call signs used by GNSF forces change to currently-classified call signs. The Intelligence Department is placed in to a high level of alert, focusing on a specific potential threat. GNSF Armed Forces are placed on high alert and assist in intelligence gathering. |
 | This refers to a further increase in force readiness just below maximum readiness. All Armed forces are placed on high alert and operate with the Wartime Rules of Engagement (ROE). All forces will maintain a weapons hold condition unless fired upon. |
 | This refers to maximum state of readiness. This places all GNSF armed forces in active Wartime ROE, and in a weapons free condition during such operations. This level is used only for open active Wartime engagements with a large organized hostile force. |
